About Palazzo Libertà

On March 23rd, 2018 we bought a house in Abruzzo, Italy.

The terracotta bricks that I’m completely in love with

We did it because we didn’t want to regret not doing it. Not because it was an easy decision to make, but because we could not get this particular house out of our heads after seeing it. It lingered.

After viewing ~20 different apartments, houses and something in between – this house was OURS, there was no other way to look at it.

The process from the first viewing to signing the contracts took about 9 months, the last 3 being mostly about finding the time when both the sellers and we could be in town at the same time.

It’s a big house, and the small things that needed to be fixed quickly turned into bigger things – we still don’t know how much bigger. But we’re about to find out, and we’re about to find out what life in Italy is really like! This blog is about that journey. Welcome to our Italian palazzo, Palazzo Libertà.
